Himalayan Singing Bowls, Instruments for meditation, Sound Healing, Sound Therapy

What should I expect from a Sound Therapy session?

At the beginning of the session you’re encouraged to reflect on any areas of your health and well being you might like to focus on. You might also use the session to support relaxation.

Depending on what’s most comfortable you’ll be offered a chair or massage table with blankets and cushions to experience the sound.

The gongs, Himalayan bowls or drum are played for around 35 minutes in specific ways to create an opportunity for deep relaxation.

The sound session finishes with 5 to 10 minutes of percussion instruments to bring the attention back to the present. This is sometimes needed after deep relaxation.

After the session you might like to reflect on any thoughts or emotions that came up or consider how any physical symptoms are feeling.

Clients have reported feeling calmer, refreshed and pain easing after a session. They have also reported being able to process emotions or find insight into current situations.

What should I wear to a Sound Therapy session?

It's important to be comfortable to support your relaxation. Our body temperatures can dip when we are relaxed and it's advisable to wear some extra layers.

For one to one sound sessions a blanket and cushions will be offered. For group sound sessions you might like to bring extra blankets and cushions to support feeling warm and comfortable.

It is very rare, but sometimes sound frequencies create sympathetic resonance with metal implants in the body. It is advisable to highlight to your Sound Therapist areas of the body to be cautious.

It is advisable to discuss with your Sound Therapist how best to support your needs during the session and if a chair or massage table is more comfortable.
